How does coral sponsorship work?
 
1. Choose your recruit
Sponsor your favorite species! The Coral Nursery is growing species that are resistant to diseases caused by climate change, to assure a healthier chance out on the reef!
 
2. Give it a name
It’s your baby, so be creative! Name it after a friend, a celebrity, or anything you like. 
 
3. Show off your coral
You’re growing a coral recruit, you should be proud! Show it off on social media or at home, anywhere you want. 
 
Why sponsor a coral?
Without coral reefs, entire marine ecosystems will collapse. 
 
Support Biodiversity
Coral reefs cover only 0.1% of the ocean floor but are home to over 25% of all marine species. Without them, the species that depend on them for survival will lose their home, triggering a massive species decline.
 
Protect Coastlines
Coral reefs act as a barrier to protect coastlines from waves. As sea levels continue to rise, they will play an even bigger role in preventing coastal erosion and reducing the detrimental impacts of hurricanes.
 
Preserve Humanity
Approximately 500 million people around the world rely on reef ecosystems for food, medicine, and income. Without them, the livelihoods of these half a billion people are immediately threatened.
